VSA Volume
Relative volume in smooth bands from low to ultra high, blue up bars and red down bars, and a magenta bar when the volume is below both bars before it. Compared with the session on earlier days too.
Volume Spread Analysis
Volume tells you how much effort went into a bar; the spread and the next bar tell you the result. ICC Charts measures both for you and scans rule-based VSA setups live, next to the ICT models.
VSA compares three things on every candle: the volume (how much was traded), the spread (from high to low) and the close. A wide bar on small volume moved easily: little stood in the way. A small bar on huge volume means a lot of orders met and price could not move: someone big was absorbing them.
The key lesson of the method: big volume alone is 50 / 50. It can be aggressive buying or supply. The reaction of the next bar tells which one it was, and a reaction on low volume shows the other side has gone.
On the chart
Relative volume in smooth bands from low to ultra high, blue up bars and red down bars, and a magenta bar when the volume is below both bars before it. Compared with the session on earlier days too.
Labels on the bars as they close: imbalance shift, engulf, no demand, no supply, stopping volume and upthrust.
VSA setups appear in the All-Models Scanner with an ICT / Wolf / VSA filter, across gold, indices and forex.
Rule-based
Found under Custom Models › VSA. Each setup is drawn with its entry, stop and targets. The VSA bias (M5 SMA 200 and an EMA 50 rising on M1, M5, M15 and M30) and a separate DXY filter can be switched on for all of them.
An engulf beyond the last bar's high or low on solid volume, and the imbalance shift, on gold 5m and 15m.
Big volume into a low or a high, then the next bar turns the other way on low volume.
The reaction bar engulfs the big-volume bar while the volume dries up.
A climax: small bars on very high volume at the end of a move, then the turn.
An old high or low broken on big volume, then price comes straight back on low volume.
After buying or selling, a quiet test of the area that holds.
The first rally after the buying makes a line; its break on low volume confirms.
Setups follow fixed rules; many will lose. Test them on paper or a demo account first.
The same VSA setups as a stand-alone expert advisor: it reads the M5 and M15 bars itself, with each setup on or off, the H1 trend filter, your risk per trade, a stop beyond the setup and two targets with breakeven. The EA and the terminal use the same rules, so the signals agree.
The EA is in demo testing now and will be offered to members after it.
Open the terminal, add VSA Volume and switch on the VSA Models. Free to start.
